Intentionality: In The Meantime

1 Corinthians 15:58

Well there's no need to tell you how my world is going these days. You're most likely right there with me. Needless to say, March caught us ALL by surprise. In some ways, it put most of us on the same playing field. Sitting at home...….wondering what happens from here.

If you're like me, I definitely have had time to think about my life, especially my spiritual well being. Talk about scripture coming to life! Besides catching up on chores, new tv shows and movies, or trying new hobbies, there is no better time to sit with God and talk about your life and your purpose here on Earth.

I came to this conclusion....

I have a tendency to let things die after a while. If I don't "feel like" it should happen right now, then it gets put away. If I "feel like" I have nothing to say, then I get quiet. If I "feel like" I don't deserve or not qualified for something, then I shy away from it. And I'll be the one to tell you...….it's getting me nowhere.

Not only am I stagnant in developing my life the way God intended, but it stops all the good fruit, or rather all the good things God wanted to produce in me. Being unproductive in God's sight is more terrifying than doing what I feel is right or productive in my own eyes.

So in my plot twist, I'm less focused (LESS focused, not UNfocused) on how to revamp my life once this passes, and will prioritize doing and trying the things that will produce good things in the Earth. Most importantly, it lifts God up, and in return exposes me to a beautiful and abundant life.

What I feel like shouldn't dictate what God says I should do. If I need to pray, it has to be done. If I need to carve out time to read and study more, then I should get on it. If I need to sit and write a blog to encourage someone, then...……..here I am.

So here's my encouragement for the day. You probably have more time on your hands. Use this time to really talk to God. Ask what you could be doing during this time of resting, resetting, or whatever you'd like to call it. Believe the things He's asked you to do will be beneficial, despite how you feel about it. Then last but not least, go for it! Yes, we maybe living in uncertain times but as some people say, "It ain't over, till it's over!" You, and people around you, will be surprised on all the things God can do during this time.
